The differences between a digital camera and a traditional camera - Digital camera internal operation

Digital cameras use lenses and a shutter to capture the light inside the camera body as traditional film cameras, but this is where the similarity ends.

Instead of using film to capture an image as do traditional cameras, digital camera to capture the image with an image sensor.

These sensors are fully electronic in their operation. Have different electronic device to measure light intensity and a host of otherfunctions.

The complexity of the image sensor determines the rating, measured in megapixels. The higher number of megapixels a digital camera offering, the greater the clarity and the resulting image quality. Even the higher the rating megapixel digital camera, the higher the cost of the camera.

Digital cameras function of converting light into an electrical signal which, in turn, converted to binary (1 and 0) so that they can be treatedthrough the digital camera 's-board computer. After the binary numbers are processed are stored on digital memory card or floppy disk.

The camera processes the light so that light is converted into colors of red, green and blue using internal filters. Photographs must be further refined by the computer processing to produce color photography. This process is called Demosaicing.

Many cameras offer photo sharpeningto make clearer digital photographs, usually, there are controls on the camera to adjust the brightness, contrast and color saturation.

After all this is done - in digital camera - the last step is to compress the image and put it on your memory card.

To load images from a digital camera to a computer and gives you the ability to process the digital image by hand, requires a digital camera that offers this applicability. If youI want this feature you should ask if the camera you are considering covers before you buy.
